Project Management (ILM Level 3 Award — ESF Funded) — Online Learning

Course outline

This course provides an opportunity for employees working in an existing role that requires project management, or are aspiring to be, who want to develop their project management knowledge and skills to progress within their career and become more effective and confident in their role.

You can expect to learn:

  • Basic project design
  • Simple tools for financial appraisal of projects
  • Project planning tools
  • Milestones to monitor performance
  • Project evaluation
  • Plan, conduct and evaluate a project briefing or presentation

The qualification is unit-based and the content will differ according to the combination of units used by each delivery course.

The following units will be included in the qualification:

  • Managing workplace projects
  • Giving briefings and making presentations

Level 3 Award in Project Management

Entry requirements

No formal entry requirements are needed, but students should have a reasonable level of numeracy and English vocabulary.

Your business must also be eligible for the funding, does yours qualify?

Most small and medium organisations in Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire are eligible for support.

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are defined as:

  • Less than 250 employees
  • Annual turnover under EUR 50 million or;
  • Annual balance sheet less than EUR 43 million

Companies must be based in the D2N2 area to qualify for support. D2N2 is the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) for Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

Teaching & assessment

You must successfully demonstrate your understanding of the learning outcomes and meet the assessment criteria.

Progression

You could progress to:

  • Level 4 Associate Project Manager (Higher Apprenticeship)
  • Level 5 Operations/Departmental Manager (Higher Apprenticeship
