Upcycling for Renovations - Part-time

Course outline

This course will appeal to students who are interested in using alternative materials and methods to create art.

We will use a range of recycled media and various techniques, and several finished pieces will be produced.

Emphasis will be on students’ developing and exploring their own interests in the projects. Reference will be made to the work of past and contemporary artists.

Topics include:

  • Making and using your own drawing tools
  • Collage
  • Constructing reliefs
  • Constructing sculpture
  • Working with different mediums including tile, glass, wood

There are no formal entry requirements but you should have a good standard of written and spoken English.

Assessment

Tutors will give regular verbal and written feedback. You will be required to complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and encouraged to set your own personal targets as part of this course.

Progression

There may be opportunities to progress onto other courses both in the community and at Nottingham College sites.
