Course outline

This course is perfect if you’ve already completed a relevant Level 3 course, and you’ll hone your skills and qualify as a Master Technician. As a technician who is already competent at Level 3, you will develop your knowledge and understanding of a range of more senior/specialist skills.

You’ll learn a range of theoretical and practical aspects in light vehicle technology and advanced diagnostic techniques, such as:

  • Supporting job roles in the automotive work environment
  • Making learning possible through demonstrations and instructions
  • Motor vehicle customer service needs
  • Monitoring procedures to control risk to health and safety
  • Diagnosing faults where no prescribed process is available
  • Technical support advice
  • Liaising with suppliers

You can expect to receive top level training in industry-standard workshops, giving you the tools to thrive in the ever-changing motor vehicle industry.

You’ll need a Level 3 automotive qualification plus Level 2 Maths and English Language. You will also need to successfully complete a practical assessment.
