The National Apprenticeship programme has been designed in conjunction with the National Caravan Council (NCC) to specifically develop technician apprentices to equip them with the highest level of skills and practical ability within the Caravan and Motorhome industry. Training is delivered via a block release programme, at the state of the art Training Academy in Nottingham. This provides Caravan and Motorhome Apprentices with the most up to date manufacturer specific, knowledge and competencies that participants can put into direct action in their workshops when returning from the Academy. This ensures that the UK Caravan and Motorhome network are supplied with the next generation of highly skilled employees and potential managers of the future.
This Apprenticeship and Advanced Apprenticeship are structured around the IMI’s Caravan and Motorhome Maintenance and Repair L2 & L3 Diploma’s. In addition they include Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT at the required level, Employment Rights & Responsibilities (ERR) and the prerequisite training in 12V/240V electrics, caravan servicing and STGW (Standards of Training in Gas Works, formally known as ACoPs) to meet the Approved Workshop Scheme (AWS) technician requirements.
The total duration of the programme is 36 months. 12 to 18 months to complete level 2 and a further 12 to 18 months to complete level 3.
