Restoration Apprenticeship Programme

The Restoration Apprenticeship Programme has been designed in conjunction with The International Guild Of Specialist Engineers (TIGOSE) specifically to develop technician apprentices from across the UK to equip them with the highest level of traditional skills and practical ability within the Vehicle Restoration industry.

Training is delivered via a residential block release programme, at the state of the art Training Academy in Nottingham. This provides Vehicle Restoration Apprentices with specific knowledge and competencies that participants can put into direct action in their workshops when returning from the Academy. In addition apprentices receive regular visits at their employers’ location by a dedicated Skills Trainer who will carry out coaching and assessment. This ensures that the UK Vehicle Restoration industry is supplied with the next generation of highly skilled employees and potential managers of the future.

The Apprenticeship and Advanced Apprenticeship are structured around the IMI’s Classic Vehicle Restoration L2 & L3 Diploma’s. In addition they include Employment Rights & Responsibilities (ERR) and Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT at the required level.

The total duration of the programme is typically 36 months. 18 to 24 months to complete level 2 and a further 12 to 18 months to complete level 3.
