Digital Bootcamps

The Government’s Digital Skills Bootcamps were announced in October 2020 and committed much needed support to businesses grappling with an ongoing pandemic and an increasing need to digitally adapt to our new working environment.

Our region, through the D2N2 LEP has been awarded budget to roll out free and subsidised training to businesses across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire and we’re thrilled to have been chosen as a training partner in this valuable project, starting in early 2021.

Offering a blend of online and face to face learning, over the course of either 8 or 12 weeks, each of our three digital pathways will be free for SMEs (<250 employees) and £250 per place for all other businesses. The pathways are:

Digital Marketing

This 8 week course focuses on the importance of the ever-evolving, dynamic digital landscape and will develop your skills to improve digital marketing performance and explore the challenges and opportunities within the digital environment. You will also use a range of tools to plan how to enhance your organisation’s effectiveness in the digital age and you will develop your understanding of digital marketing tools and techniques and assess the different applications of digital marketing.

Systems Development and Design

This hybrid course is a 12 week introduction to Systems Design and Development. It will be delivered partially in-class and partially online to provide a flexible study model with the ability to revisit recorded content for revision and to allow study at each participant’s own pace. The subject includes a look at the different development roles within the IT and web development Industry and the responsibilities associated with these roles. We also delve into the world of programming using the C# language and web development using HTML, CSS and Javascript.

Networking/Routing/Switching Essentials

This course provides learners with an understanding of the architecture, components, and operations of routers and switches in a small network. It develops skills related to configuring a router and a switch for basic functionality. On successful completion of this unit, learners will be able to configure and troubleshoot routers and switches and resolve common issues with RIPv1, RIPng, single-area, and multi-area OSPF, virtual LANs, and inter-VLAN routing in both IPv4. This unit includes content from Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching curriculum, allowing to gain the full CCNA certification with further study and successful completion of the external exam. This course is offered both class-based and distance learning.
