Digital Bootcamps

The Government’s Digital Skills Bootcamps were announced in October 2020 and committed much needed support to businesses grappling with an ongoing pandemic and an increasing need to digitally adapt to our new working environment.

Our region, through the D2N2 LEP, has been awarded budget to roll out free and subsidised training to businesses across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire and we’re thrilled to have been chosen as a training partner in this valuable project.

Offering a blend of online and face to face learning, over the course of 8 weeks, this course is free for SMEs (<250 employees) and £250 per place for all other businesses.

Digital Marketing Techniques

Course overview

Digital marketing is a journey that can help businesses to launch products and services and take an organisation towards new markets and discover new opportunities. The many platforms that have opened up online mean that marketing can consist of appropriate and engaging content, tailored to an individual experience. While many generic marketing tutorials and training programs are available online, this eight week course delivered by an experienced digital marketing practitioner emphasises the creative process in relation to digital marketing: focusing on critical analysis, content creation and the planning of successful digital campaigns.

This module focuses on the importance of the ever-evolving, dynamic digital landscape. You will develop skills to improve digital marketing performance and explore the challenges and opportunities within the digital environment. You will also use a range of tools to plan how to enhance an organisation’s effectiveness in the digital age.

Learning outcomes:

Successful students will be able to:

  • Understand digital marketing tools and techniques in the contemporary advertising landscape.
  • Assess different applications of digital marketing in relation to a specific goal and/or business or product.
  • Understand the range of skills required to successfully tell the story of a product or business online.

Assignment outcomes:

  • Students will explore the key elements of a successful digital marketing strategy.
  • Students will understand the creative components required for successful online marketing and will explore their creation.
  • Students will engage with a variety of digital platforms for creation and communication, and record their research and case studies on a blog.

Introduction to course and overview of Digital Marketing over the eight weeks.

Creative brief, Ideas to promote a business or product through digital marketing

We will identify a business or product as an example of industry best practice and how they use digital marketing practices and strategies to promote it.

Students will understand the principles and key elements of effective marketing for a business or product using best practice, models and strategies.

Learners will develop their business ideas further by looking at

  • SWOT analysis
  • Segmentation
  • Create Personas

SDL: Conduct market research for your chosen product or business using a variety of tools covered in this class. Bring results in the format of a digital Powerpoint to show next week.
