Enrolling on courses starting in September 2022
Here are the arrangements for enrolment onto courses starting this September 2022!
If you applied to the college and received an offer of a place from us before 12th August 2022, you should have received or will receive an email inviting you to a specific enrolment session so that you can get fully enrolled as a Nottingham College student!
If you received an offer of a place on a course from us, but no enrolment email by the 15th August, please get in touch with us on 0115 9 100 100.
Your invitation to enrolment will be sent by email to your personal email address, which you supplied when you set up your account with us. Please check your junk email box, sometimes these will land in there and we don’t want you to miss this important information.
After we have sent you your invitation we will ask you to accept the date and time of your enrolment appointment in your application account. This is really important so that we can manage the numbers of new students attending at each centre – we want you to feel as comfortable on the day and ensure you are dealt with as quickly as possible.
After this you will be sent another email which asks you to log onto your application account and check your personal details are correct, again this helps speed up your enrolment process. By completing the get ready for college pages, it will help speed up the process on the day of your enrolment.
Please ensure you bring everything with you that we need to see when you come to enrol. You can find detailed information about what to bring here.
All of our prospective students will be required to come onto campus to enrol so we can:
- Ensure you are enrolling onto the correct course (please make sure you bring your exam results slip or exam certificates if you have them),
- Make sure you have all of the information you need about any kit or equipment requirements
- Check if you need to continue to study English and or maths
- Support you with any fee arrangements and childcare applications for student finance if you are 19+.
You can apply for student finance as soon as we have invited you to your enrolment, you’ll need to upload any required evidence and “fully” enrol onto your course before we can assess your application though. If you need any support with what evidence you need to provide, please check out our Student Fund page.
Frequently asked questions
I haven’t got the results I expected or need. What should I do?
Firstly, try not to worry, Nottingham College has hundreds of courses to choose from, and we are here to support you. Come along to your scheduled enrolment appointment where we can discuss alternative options with you, and if needed, make you an appointment to discuss things further with one of our friendly careers advisers. Alternatively, if you’d like some advice on what your options are, please call 0115 9 100 100 where our team will book you an appointment to speak to a Careers Advisor. Check out the website course pages too, to look at options.
Alternatively, you can apply for a course in the area that you think you would like to study. Once you have applied, you will be asked to come along to a late applicant enrolment drop in event, where you can talk to one of the faculty teachers about the course. Every course displays its entry requirements on the website.
I haven’t filled in an application form. Do I need to fill in an application form before I enrol?
If you haven’t applied to us yet, don’t worry, please apply online. Once you have applied, you will either be invited into a set enrolment date of if you apply after 12th August you’ll be asked to drop into a late applicant enrolment session, where you can talk to one of the faculty teachers. Try and come along at your earliest opportunity as some courses fill up quickly and courses start on Monday 5th September.
I cannot attend or have missed my original enrolment date, what should I do?
Please contact us as soon as possible and we will give you an alternative date to enrol. We are running special events for applicants who cannot make their original date but you must contact us to let us know you still want to enrol. If you don’t contact us we cannot guarantee that your place will be held. Some of our courses are in high demand and fill up quickly, therefore make every effort to attend the original date and time.
I've enrolled on a course elsewhere but I'm not sure it’s right for me?
No worries, once you have applied you will be asked to drop into one of our late enrolment events where you can talk to one of our faculty teachers in the area you are interested in
How will I receive my college ID card?
You will collect this at the campus where you are enrolling on the day as long as your enrolment is fully completed*.
*Your enrolment may be delayed if you do not provide your exam results, the correct evidence for fee remission/ fee payment or personal Identification - please make sure you read the information what to bring with you to your enrolment invitation.
I’m a progressing student, going onto my 2nd or 3rd year with Nottingham college, what happens now?
As a progressing student you should have signed your learning agreement already and then you’ll receive your confirmation of enrolment via email (your primary email – normally your personal email – check your junk mail box) after 25th August. In this email it will tell you when to come into college to pick up your new ID card. Your course tutor will then email you with details about your first week at college, this will be sent to your college email address so look out for this.
