Additional Learning Support

Additional Learning Support at Nottingham college offers a wide range of support services which includes support for students who:

  • are deaf/deafened or hard of hearing
  • have a visual impairment
  • have a physical disability
  • have a mental health condition
  • have a specific learning difficulty such as an autistic spectrum condition, dyslexia, dyspraxia and dyscalculia

At Nottingham College, we work with an organisation called Randstad who are a specialist provider of support services for education.

Higher Education students requiring specialist support must receive Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) to fund support. Although you can apply for the DSA at any stage of your course, we advise that you apply as soon as possible, to ensure that the support you need is in place for the start of your course.

When we have heard from Student Finance England that your DSA is in place, you will be matched with a Randstad support worker who will contact you to make support arrangements.

If you have any questions about what support might be available to you or about your application for DSA, please get in touch with our disability team by emailing
