When making an application for certain courses, you may find in your Learner Hub account that the application is put on hold. This can be for a variety of reasons. In most cases, this isn't anything to be concerned about. In this article, we will explain the main reasons why applications might be put on hold and what you can do to progress an application that is put into this status.

Typically, applications may go on hold if additional checks are required or if further information is needed to progress the application. This mainly occurs for the following courses:

• A Levels - Entry requirements/missing qualifications

• Access to Higher Education - Being over the age of 19 and entry requirements.

• T Levels - Entry requirements/missing qualifications.

For T Level courses, these applications will often go into the on hold status immediately after applying. This is a normal process, as additional checks are required before proceeding. In most cases, the courses above have specific entry requirements, and if this information is not originally provided on the application or it is not clear to our admissions team, the application will be put on hold status. We will then contact you to request further details via email to upload additional information.

There are also other reasons for applications going on hold, this can be for:

• Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) - If an EHCP is required for a student, we must liaise with several teams, including Nottinghamshire County Council, to ensure we can provide the required support before proceeding. Because of the requirement of liaising with different teams, this can take some time to complete.

• Risk Assessment - If any applicant declares they have any previous, pending, or current criminal convictions, this requires a review from our safeguarding team before proceeding further.

• Residency checks - Proof of residency in the United Kingdom. This is requested if you are not a UK National and we need to make further checks for your right to study or live in the UK.
