What if I don't have any qualifications?
Leaving school without qualifications doesn't shut the door on college — there are several pathways available to those without formal qualifications. These might include:
Nottingham College offers courses at a range of entry levels, including Pre-Entry and Level 1 provision specifically designed for students who don't yet hold formal qualifications, alongside programmes aimed at building core English and Maths skills alongside vocational training. Rather than being turned away, applicants in this position are usually invited to a conversation with a Careers and Destinations Coach, who can look at your interests, any relevant experience, and personal circumstances to recommend the most appropriate route.
This might mean starting on a foundation-level or supported learning course and progressing up through the levels as you build confidence and skills, rather than starting directly on a Level 2 or 3 course. The college's Supported Learning provision, in particular, is designed for students who need a more flexible, tailored programme, so it's worth mentioning any additional support needs at this stage too.
