What if I don't pass my GCSE English and/or maths?
If you did not pass GCSE English and/or maths at school or got a lower GCSE grade than expected, you will be required to retake these while at college. Some of our courses will have entry requirements which require a minimum amount of GCSE grades, including English and Maths.
Depending on the course you have chosen, you may be able to study GCSE English and maths alongside your course, or alternatively you will be directed to an alternative course to work your way up to improving or achieving a higher GCSE grade for English and/or maths during your time at college. If you are able to retake your GCSEs alongside your course, these will be additional timetabled lessons, in addition to your chosen course.
If appropriate to your chosen course, Functional Skills may also be offered as a option if applicable.
