Can I change my course after enrolling?

For our full-time Further Education courses, there's a 6-week window at the start of the September term during which you can request to change course, subject to availability. We refer to this as swapping or transferring to a course, rather than just dropping out or withdrawing. We also send a WhatsApp survey to all those have enrolled/returned to college to check in on how things are going.

This settling-in period recognises that a course can feel quite different in practice from how it looked on paper, and allows students to switch onto something better suited to them without it being treated as a full withdrawal and reapplication. That said, a change isn't automatic. It is important to tell your tutor you are thinking of changing courses.

If you're considering a change, speak to your course tutor or student support as soon as possible — the earlier a switch happens within that six-week window, the easier it is to catch up.

Note: It may not always be possible to swap to another course due to limited places available on alternative courses.
