Is there a dress code at college?

There is no general uniform or dress code at Nottingham College, but we do have a no cap/hats policy in College buildings.

The no cap/hats policy when on college campuses is a fairly standard practice across many educational settings for security purposes, relating to identification and a general classroom standard.

For practical, hands-on courses — particularly those involving kitchens, workshops, labs, or client-facing settings like hair and beauty — specific uniform or protective clothing requirements are common, safety or hygiene reasons (for example, closed-toe shoes in a workshop, or specific whites in a catering kitchen). These course-specific requirements will be confirmed at enrolment or induction, so there's no need to guess or purchase anything in advance of receiving that information.

All students are expected to wear their lanyard while on college campus at all times.
