Who we are and what we do

EMTEC is a spe­cial­ist and glob­al­ly renowned provider of auto­mo­tive edu­ca­tion and training.

Based in Not­ting­ham, our team of pro­fes­sion­al train­ers have all enjoyed suc­cess­ful careers in the UK and glob­al auto­mo­tive and engi­neer­ing sec­tor for a num­ber of years.

We devel­op and sup­ply tal­ent to the UK and glob­al auto­mo­tive indus­try, pre­sid­ing over a wide rang­ing train­ing pro­gramme cov­er­ing auto­mo­tive appren­tice­ships, spe­cial­ist bespoke train­ing pack­ages, online train­ing and accred­it­ed auto­mo­tive qualifications.

We are expert col­lab­o­ra­tors and we take pride in our abil­i­ty to oper­ate as a strate­gic part­ner, entire­ly respon­sive to your organ­i­sa­tion and train­ing needs. We enjoy suc­cess­ful and long­stand­ing part­ner­ships with inter­na­tion­al brands includ­ing KIA, Hyundai, Fer­rari, Bent­ley, Aston Mar­tin, Tes­la and Ssang Yong. We work close­ly with pro­fes­sion­al bod­ies includ­ing the IMI (Insti­tute of Motor Indus­try) and ATA (Auto­mo­tive Tech­ni­cian Accred­i­ta­tion) to ensure our train­ing is cut­ting-edge and rel­e­vant to the indus­try today, and in the future.

Owned and man­aged by Not­ting­ham Col­lege, one of the largest col­leges in the UK, EMTEC offers safe, reg­u­lat­ed and accred­it­ed train­ing to young peo­ple and adults with­in the auto­mo­tive and engi­neer­ing indus­try. We are inspect­ed by Ofst­ed and are safe­guard­ing prac­tices and pro­vi­sion of pas­toral care are inspect­ed with­in the rig­or­ous inspec­tion stan­dard used.

Inter­na­tion­al­ly, EMTEC Col­leges Ltd has estab­lished EMTEC Con­sult­ing (Shang­hai) Ltd oper­at­ing in Shang­hai, Chi­na, as well as EMTEC Col­leges (Hong Kong) Ltd. Both are whol­ly owned sub­sidiaries of Not­ting­ham College.

Our Nottingham site

We are located within Nottingham College’s Ruddington campus which sits on its own 5 acre footprint within a rural business park adjacent to a 210 acre country park and boasts off street parking, EV charging and secure storage.

The site comprises three large buildings, each boasting classrooms, workshops and demo space.

We house an onsite cafeteria and provide offsite overnight accommodation for those training with us on residential programmes.

Our training facilities

Our training facilities are unrivalled in the region. We feature dedicated workshop spaces for light vehicle technical repair, structural repair, bodywork repair and research and development. We also have a dedicated caravan and motorhome workshop.

Facilities include two spray-booths, a dedicated electric and hybrid vehicle lab and a fabrication innovation unit. We also host our own End Point Assessment centre to support full delivery of Apprenticeships, including those delivered by partners.

Our onsite facilities include:

  • Flexi rooms for larger audiences (meetings, conferences, product launches etc)

  • Onsite cafeteria as well as a hospitality and catering service provided by Nottingham College

Our professional staff

Our team of assessors, trainers and onsite technicians are highly skilled and incredibly committed to providing the highest standards of training and development.

All of our trainers began life in industry and use this industry experience and understanding to enhance our training offer. They have developed a wide ranging training programme that includes apprenticeships, short courses, other accredited qualifications and a range of value added programmes in which we enhance our courses with non-mandatory training modules that equips our candidates for future demand on their skills.

Our team of apprentice trainers are all working towards, or have already completed, their master tech level of proficiency.

Our training teams are supported by onsite cleaning, ICT and hospitality staff.
