Lifelong Learning at Nottingham College: Renford’s Journey to Success

It has been challenging and so worth while at the same time. Thank you for your support and patience with me on my learning journey and the amazing support team that have created a great online learning experience for all of us that need an education top up.

Renford Marsden — Student

Renford Marsden, a 62-year-old CEO of a microbusiness, decided to pursue a City & Guild qualification in maths at Nottingham College. He had struggled with maths in his youth and did not have the qualification upon leaving school. However, he did not let that stop him from pursuing a successful career that took him around the world.

One such learner is Renford, a 63-year-old CEO of a microbusiness, who decided to pursue a City & Guild qualification in maths at Nottingham College. Renford had struggled with maths in his youth and did not have the qualification upon leaving school. However, he did not let that stop him from pursuing a successful career that took him around the world.

When Renford decided to pursue a qualification in maths, he turned to social media for guidance and found #skillsforlife, a campaign that directed him to the relevant UK HM Government webpage to understand the application process. Renford then undertook online research to find a qualified authority that offered the City & Guild syllabus he was interested in, which led him to Nottingham College.

Renford has been participating in the course at his own pace, balancing his studies with work and business commitments. He has found the support and guidance from his tutors to be invaluable, and he recommends Nottingham College to anyone looking to pursue a new learning journey.

Renford’s story is a testament to the power of lifelong learning and the opportunities available to learners of all ages and backgrounds at Nottingham College. We believe that education is for everyone, and we are committed to helping our learners achieve their goals, whatever they may be.
