Thanks to my knowledge and skills I can help others fulfil their dreams

Marta Sobieraj —

Marta Sobieraj’s journey to join the ESOL team was long but profitable. In 2013, she moved to the UK from Poland.

First, she studied English as a foreign language for three years at NC on Maid Marian Way, meanwhile working as a Teaching Assistant in one of the primary schools, then as a Supply Teacher in a variety of primary schools in Nottingham, Derby, and Mansfield.

In the meantime, she was volunteering at Nottingham College- which motivated her to take the CELTA course, which she successfully completed. These diverse experiences resulted in increased confidence and the first attempt to apply for a job as an ESOL tutor.

Today, Marta works as a part of the ESOL team in the Adams Building at Nottingham College, which she considers the greatest team she has worked with so far. Everyone is extremely helpful and motivating to raise her aspirations.

I am proud of my achievements, and I am sure that thanks to my knowledge and skills I can help others fulfil their dreams of having a job that they are passionate about, just like me
