Reza — ESOL for adults

Reza studied as an adult. He used ESOL courses for adults at Nottingham College to improve his English. Then, he studied more courses and worked his way up to Level 3 and Level 4 AAT Accounting.

Now, he runs DNS Accountants Nottingham, his new franchise.

Reza came to the UK in 2015 from Iran, with lots of experience as an accountant.

But he didn’t have the UK qualifications to work as an accountant here straightaway.

So, he has worked hard to gain the right qualifications at Nottingham College.

Reza's view on the ESOL staff

Reza studied as a mature student. He said: On my ESOL course at Nottingham College, teachers were very friendly and very supportive.

They were always considerate of people’s lives outside of College. They were so helpful in and outside of it.”

Reza explained how ESOL helped him progress

Reza said: The ESOL course helped me to move onto Functional Skills Maths and then onto higher level qualifications, including part-time Accounting qualifications.

I think everyone needs to have good English to move to the next stage of studying, and that is why ESOL is so good.”
