Why Nottingham College?
Moving to college to study further education can bring many benefits to students. It can help build self-confidence and independence, whilst also helping students to develop a wide range of experiences and skills in addition to their chosen course.
Nottingham College is known for providing a variety of opportunities for students, so that they have experiences that are just right for them.
We’re committed to providing the support and facilities needed to give students the skills which are so essential for both higher education and today’s fast-changing world of employment.
We have great campuses including High Pavement Sixth Form, Adams Building in the city centre, as well as our modern and state of the art buildings at Highfields and Basford and soon to be City Hub.
Each one is dedicated to specific areas of study which means they’ve all been specially kitted out with industry standard equipment to support our students in their learning.
We have: science laboratories, TV and radio studios, hair and beauty salons, nail bars, recording studios, theatres, performance spaces, dance studios, construction workshops, art galleries and a restaurant, as well as classrooms equipped with the latest learning technology.
We think one of the great benefits of coming to college is the independence that it gives young people. However, you can rest assured that there’s also plenty of support available to our learners, should they need it.
Students can meet with their tutor regularly to discuss their progress and solve any issues they may be having with their course; they also have the opportunity to meet with one of our Careers and Destinations Coaches to discuss their options after completing their course and if they’re experiencing any difficulties at home, such as bereavement, our Achievement Coaches are on hand to give them the support they need to continue to succeed in their studies.
If your son or daughter has a physical or learning disability, you can visit our Learning Support page for more information about the support we offer.
We work very hard to give our students amazing and often once-in-a-lifetime experiences, to enhance their learning and development. In the past two years we’ve had students pitch their idea for a new mobile phone app at Twitter HQ in San Francisco, head to New York to secure investment in their business, travel to India to work in a hospital and go on an art trip to Florence.
Closer to home, there’s plenty of opportunity for your son or daughter to get involved in our sports teams, the Students' Union, student enterprise activity and the many events we run throughout the year, from fashion shows to art exhibitions to our ‘Big Bang’ science day at BioCity.
