You can start this apprenticeship at any time.
Apprentices will study 19 units of work that look at various topics important to the role and responsibilities within the residential childcare sector.
Topics may include:
Duration: 18 months plus 3 months End Point Assessment
Children, Young People and Families Practitioner - Higher Apprenticeship (Level 4)
You will need at least 5 GCSEs at Grades 9 - 4 (A* - C) including Maths at Grade 9 - 6 (A - B), English and Science or their equivalent. Apprentices without level 2 English and maths will need to have achieve this prior to taking the end point assessment.
You will also need to be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week in a relevant job but we can assist you in finding a placement.
Adults who are aged 19+ with appropriate industry experience but without the necessary qualifications are welcome to apply.
All applicants will be required to undertake an assessment in English and maths prior to enrolling.
The apprenticeship is assessed through a blended learning approach which includes observation visits to your workplace setting, the assessment of written assignments and remote individual and group support throughout the duration of you course and study period.
Apprentices are required to make a regular monthly meeting date (remote or visit) with the assessor to monitor progression and achievement throughout the course.
You could progress to a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare course.
