*Some conditions apply for being allowed on trips such as good attendance and up to date on classwork.

The Turing Scheme offers funded trips to other countries, making them way cheaper to go on. The courses usually link to what you’re studying, and there’s often a social action or volunteering element too.
Last year, we had seven groups head off to different destinations. Animal Science students went to Thailand, Catering and Sport Science headed to Tanzania, Games Media and IT checked out San Francisco and Silicon Valley, and Science and Engineering did the same. Hair and Beauty took a trip to Cambodia, and Catering explored Finland.
This year, we have Travel and Tourism students going to Bali, Engineering students jetting off to San Francisco, and our Catering students heading to Saville, with maybe even more to be announced. Turing Scheme trips are available every year, so keep an eye out for more info or speak to your tutor!

This is YOUR college and YOUR experience so the SU work with the college to ensure that you have the experience that you want to gain the skills and development need for your future.
If you’re interested in becoming a Student Governor, you need to apply and campaign for the position and then there will be a college-wide election where all students will be able to vote for who they want to be Governor.
The successful Student Governors will attend the College’s Governor Meetings.
All students, when they receive their college entitlement card, automatically become democratic voting members of the National Union of Students.
