There are many different ways you can engage with future talent at Nottingham College from coming into college to share your own story to setting live employer briefs for our students to support your business needs all with the needs of our students and future employment opportunities in mind.

We are actively looking for quality employers and industry partners to work with on the following initiatives:

Construction apprentices gather round a workbench listening to their tutor

Work and Industry placements

Our work placements give partners an opportunity to promote their business, identify emerging talent, and introduce students to their industry, adapting to organisational needs while creating meaningful experiences that benefit both employers and students.

A group of industry professionals discussing their industry

Industry Advisory Board

Each of our key faculties is informed through an Industry Advisory Board (IAB). Meeting 2-3 times a year with our curriculum leads, the IAB is set up to inform curriculum design, the soft skills required and the technical/digital skills needs emerging within each sector.

Three professionals talking together

Enterprise Advisor Network

Our ambition is to have an enterprise advisor for each curriculum area, acting as our eyes and ears in industry and sense-checking our careers programme to ensure it effectively promotes routes into employment from our courses.

Employer briefs or projects

We are looking for employers to set projects or briefs for our students. Setting projects or briefs allows you to see a wide variety of student work applied specifically to your business priorities and gives our students real world experience of working towards real goals with real deadlines to manage.

Two colleagues talking to each other

Event support

We host a range of events for students to connect with our local employers. Jobs fairs, careers events and information evenings take place throughout the year and employers are encouraged to have an information stand, so that our students can connect with the employer.

A large group of professionals having a meeting

Specialist workshops

We are looking for employers who wish to promote your business to our students, bring their industry into focus for student next steps and become part of our students consideration for their future employment opportunities.
