There are many different ways you can engage with future talent at Nottingham College from coming into college to share your own story to setting live employer briefs for our students to support your business needs all with the needs of our students and future employment opportunities in mind.

We are actively looking for quality employers and industry partners to work with on the following initiatives:

All our Level 2 and 3 students are required to complete a minimum of 30 hours work experience alongside their qualification to enable them to become work ready.

Employers can advertise to, interview and recruit our students, free of charge to identify future talent and support student’s skill development aligned to their business.

Our T Level students and selected Level 2 and 3 students are required to complete 315 hours of work experience with one or more employers alongside their qualification.

Our partners are offered the chance to promote their business, identify talent and induct students into their industry in a flexible way that adapts and suits the needs of their business.

Students set targets to aim for during their extended placement, to develop relevant technical and employability skills. Employers often off-set this when recruiting potential candidates into their business when they complete their course saving the cost of induction.

Each of our key faculties is informed through an Industry Advisory Board (IAB). Meeting 2-3 times a year with our curriculum leads, the IAB is set up to inform curriculum design, the soft skills required and the technical/digital skills needs emerging within each sector.

Our ambition is to have an enterprise advisor for each curriculum area, acting as our eyes and ears in industry and sense-checking our careers programme to ensure it effectively promotes routes into employment from our courses

We are looking for employers to set projects or briefs for our students. Setting projects or briefs allows you to see a wide variety of student work applied specifically to your business priorities and gives our students real world experience of working towards real goals with real deadlines to manage, preparing them for both your business and the world of work.

We host a range of events and off-timetable activities for students to connect with our local employers, find out about apprenticeships and employment opportunities. Jobs fairs, careers events and information evenings take place throughout the year and employers are encouraged to speak or have an information stand, so that our students can connect with the employer.

Visits to local, national and international businesses all add into our student’s employability journey. Nottingham College would love the chance to bring students along to your site to see in person how you operate, meet your team and learn more about what you do.

We are looking for employers who wish to promote your business to our students, bring their industry into focus for student next steps and become part of our students consideration for their future employment opportunities.
