This course is ideal for anyone looking to begin or transition into a career in construction while gaining the essential green skills needed for today’s sustainable building industry. Delivered over 10 days across 2 weeks, it’s also perfect if you’re already working in construction and want to develop your knowledge of eco-friendly building methods, renewable technologies and sustainable site practices. If you’re new to construction, you’ll benefit from employer-focused training that leads to college certifications, a CSCS card and real job opportunities in the growing green sector.
Funding Criteria: Funding is available for learners who are aged 19 or over, unemployed, living in the D2N2 area, and eligible to live and work in the UK.
Experience: No experience needed, but a construction qualification (e.g., Electrical, Roofing, Carpentry & Joinery, Building) is helpful. Applicants without qualifications are welcome, though job prospects may be stronger with prior trade experience.
You will learn:
- Different career pathways within the green construction and renewable energy sectors
- Foundation-level knowledge of Solar PV systems
- Safe handling, installation support and basic component identification
- How to write a job-ready CV, application confidence and interview communication skills
