Laureen came to the UK with her husband in 2005, settling here with her two children who are now aged 15 and seven. With a boutique clothing shop back at home in Malawi, Laureen wanted to use her time overseas productively to gain some qualifications to enhance her business.

Studying alongside her busy family life and working as a bank administrator, Laureen worked hard to graduate with a BA (Hons) degree in Business Studies at the College this winter, awarded by Nottingham Trent University, where she now plans to progress to a Masters in Finance.

Coming to the UK and graduating feels like such a huge achievement. I never imagined I’d be at the point I am now. This course has given me so much more self-belief and drive. I hope my children will see this and be inspired.
