Nottingham College are delighted that Beeston hockey Club have joined the Fast Track Sport Academy.

Beeston 1907
Beeston hockey club.

Beeston Hockey Club boast two Premier League teams, playing in the Women’s and Men’s English Premier Divisions. While the club is immensely proud of these sides, we also have a thriving junior, as well as a large adult section, with 7 Women’s teams and 10 Men’s teams. Their new Flyerz” section is led by a wonderful group of volunteers, who deliver hockey sessions for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. The club are hoping this partnership will allow our students to support this with volunteering and providing coaching opportunities whilst they are studying. Beeston Hockey Club have also recently partnered with local charity Belong Nottingham, who support migrant and refugee families in Nottingham. These families are part of the Beeston Hockey Club community and are enjoying getting started with hockey at their club.

Beeston Hockey are fortunate to play at the largest hockey centre in the world, outside of the Netherlands. Nottingham Hockey Centre is a world class hockey facility and is a real asset to the local community and now Nottingham College.

Gareth is head coach of Beeston Hockey and shared his thoughts about joining with the college: Building this partnership with the College will bridge the gap and hopefully allow more students to get involved than ever before. We have some fantastic facilities, brilliant coaches and backroom staff team and we look forward to welcoming Nottingham College students if they would like to.”

Ollie Judd Sports Technician added his thoughts: Beeston Hockey club is a great addition to the Fast Track academy, I am hoping our learners will take the opportunity to get involved with such a fantastic club in whatever capacity they would like to. Gareth and the team will support their development which will give them a valuable insight into the industry and the sport”.
