The EMTEC Centre has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Technical Training Provider of the Year category at the 2023 Bodyshop Awards. This award recognises organisations that are training the next generation of automotive professionals and raising industry standards.

The centre, which delivers training for internationally renowned automotive brands, impressed an independent panel of 14 representatives from across the automotive industry. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on September 28, and EMTEC is excited to be among the finalists.

EMTEC is dedicated to providing the highest quality automotive education and training. The team of professional trainers has all enjoyed successful careers in the UK and global automotive and engineering sector for a number of years.

The centre offers a range of apprenticeship training programmes across the country and has national automotive organisations using EMTEC as their main training provider. Workshops are fully equipped with the latest diagnostic equipment and technology to ensure apprentices have the most up-to-date industry knowledge and hands-on experience with the kit used by motor industry professionals.

The centre will expand further to offer specialist training utilising a new fleet including two brand new Hyundai Ionic 5 Electric Vehicles, a new Zero SR‑F EV Motorcycle, provided by Pidcock Motorcycles, and two brand new Mirai Generation 1 and Generation 2 Hydrogen Fuel Cell cars provided by Toyota.

These new vehicles will significantly increase the centre’s capacity to meet the surging demand for highly skilled, trained automotive technicians and EV specialists to help repair, service and maintain the more than 1.2 million electric and hybrid plug-in cars on our roads. The addition of the two new hydrogen fuel cell cars enables the centre to get way ahead of the curve as a state-of-the-art training provider in this fast-paced and ever-evolving sector.

This expanded offer at the Ruddington site paves the way for the centre’s ambitions to develop a specialist green skills centre catering for many different sectors. Expanding the automotive curriculum to provide the skills infrastructure needed to support the continued rollout of EV and other green vehicle technology is a crucial step on this journey.

EMTEC is proud to be recognised as one of the top technical training providers in the country and looks forward to continuing to support the next generation of automotive professionals.
