Trapeze artists, a circus big top’ with live music, fairground rides, sports and enrichment tasters, and an array of tasty treats, were just some of the great things on offer to Nottingham College students as part of its circus-themed Freshers’ Fair today (Friday 13th September).

The event, which was held at the College’s London Road campus in the city centre, was organised by the College’s Wellbeing team, and encourages new starters as well as current students to meet new people and get a general feel for College life.

Lavina Jardine, 16, from Mapperley has joined the College to study GCSEs. She said:

The Fair was really fun and a great way to bring everyone together. It’s given me the chance to meet new people and make friends, and has opened up opportunities to extra-curricular things to get involved in whilst I’m at College.

Entertainment and activities during the day included: performances by the College’s Music and Performing Arts students, fairground rides, an indoor marketplace with a range of stalls from College services and external visitors, as well as FREE pizza and candy floss.

On top of all that, visitors from Circus Hub, Notts County Football in the Community, The Pythian Club, NUH Sexual Health Service and British Sign Language, will also be attending.
