News: International Trade Fair inspires business careers

Please note: This news story may contain information that is no longer current or up to date.

Business students at Nottingham College have been learning about what it takes to launch a brand internationally, by staging their very own ‘Trade Fair’ at the College.

From specialist British cheeses to well-known beauty brands, and from Nottingham fashion designers to popular drinks, each group of Level 3 Business students promoted a brand by holding a stand at the fair.

They prepared for the event by making informed choices about target countries, and then considering marketing, logistical, production and human resources planning to support the venture.

Business student Sefora Magureanu was part of a team launching a well-known beauty product into different markets.

In my team we chose Hong Kong and Iran as our target countries. We researched social advertising, made a TV programme and designed leaflets.

The project has expanded my knowledge and made me become more confident about speaking to customers.

Zeeshan Iqbal was in the same team.

I am hoping to start my own business one day, and this trade fair event is good as we’re getting all the information we need to know about how to launch a new product.
