If your child has already applied to study with us and didn’t meet the entry requirements, don’t worry! It’s important they still attend their enrolment appointment so our admissions team can work with them to find a course that meets their needs and interests.

Contact the School: Speak with teachers or the school’s career advisor to get professional advice on the next steps. They can provide guidance on re-sitting exams and remark requests.
Consider Further Education Colleges: Colleges like Nottingham College offer a wide range of courses and pathways that cater to different interests and academic levels. From vocational courses to A Levels and T Levels, there are many opportunities for your child to continue their education in a supportive environment and we still have places available for September 2024.
Apprenticeships and work-based Learning: Apprenticeships provide a blend of practical work experience and academic study. If your child prefers hands-on learning, this might be an ideal path and we have lots of vacancies available.
If your child is close to passing but didn’t quite make the grade in key subjects like maths or English, consider re-sitting the exams. Nottingham College offers support for students needing to re-sit their GCSEs, providing additional tuition and resources to help them succeed. Many of our learners study for their re-sits alongside their chosen course too!
GCSE results don’t define your child's future! Encourage them to stay positive and focus on their strengths and interests. Emphasise that there are multiple pathways to success, and this is just one step in their journey.
