News: Nottingham College Fast Track Academy wins support of Matt Bradbury Sports

Please note: This news story may contain information that is no longer current or up to date.

Renowned ice hockey and skating coach Matt Bradbury has joined forces with Nottingham College in its new Fast Track Academy which seeks to enhance opportunities for our sport students here at the college and offer new experiences to help them kick start their career in Sport.

Matt Bradbury has been a familiar face at the National Ice Centre for many years. As a former Panthers player, he moved into coaching before branching out into more youth and sports development work at the Centre and across the City. He now runs his own Matt Bradbury Sports initiative helping young people connect with sport and pave the way for new talent to emerge.

His partnership with the College, through the Fast Track Academy, will mean that all our Sports students can benefit from his experience and wisdom, gain a better understanding of Sport in Nottingham and the opportunities it presents, as well as participate in sessions co-ordinated by Matt.

Matt said:

Over the years of working in sports development and delivering coached sessions in schools and communities I have always kept contact with the sports department at the college and have worked collaboratively on projects that have engaged and offered opportunities to students working towards sporting qualifications to gain experience in sport.

He added:

Our Fast Track Academy partnership is in its early stages and I’m looking forward to help shape the sporting offer at the college and watch as its students thrive with the new experiences on offer.”

Gary Horsley heads up Nottingham College’s sports courses and is spearheading the Fast Track project. He said:

I am delighted that our students will be able to learn from Matt and it is the start of a really exciting time for the Fast Track Academy. We have worked with Matt over numerous years and his wealth of experience, passion and outstanding leadership will really add value to our offer. Matt is such a positive role model in the sporting community and we are so excited to kick start the Fast Track Academy for all students this September.”
