News: Nottingham College help people pursue Nursing and Caring careers through launching a New Health Care Hub

Happy International Nurses Day! This year we’re shining a spotlight on all the ways we encourage and assist our students aiming to pursue nursing/care careers. From cutting edge facilities, brand new qualifications in the care industry to courses across all levels.
Brand new Health Care Hub coming in September 2023

Nottingham College is set to launch a new Health Care Hub at its City Hub Campus to help people pursue nursing and caring careers. The Health Care Hub includes a simulated hospital ward, which provides students with a realistic learning environment that mimics a hospital environment and will be opening in time for September 2023.
Commenting on the launch of the new Health Care Hub, the Principal of Nottingham College said:

We are delighted to launch our new Health Care Hub, which will provide students with a state-of-the-art learning environment that mimics the actual hospital environment.

A new way to study this September
We’re also introducing a new T Level in Health, starting from September 2023, which focuses on Adult Nursing. The course is a Level 3 full-time technical qualification and includes a work placement with the NHS. The T level is designed to provide students with the necessary knowledge and practical experience to pursue a career in Adult Nursing. The work placement with the NHS will give students the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in a real-world setting and gain valuable experience in the field.
In addition to the T Level, we’re also offer a range of Health and Social Care courses, including the Access to Nursing course. These courses are designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to kick-start their careers in the field.
Access to Nursing
Jonny joined our Access to Nursing and Midwifery course last year and aspires to work in adult nursing. After working in a completely different industry for the past 20 years, he returned to education so he could fulfil his ambition of a career change and enter the world of nursing.

I have been a plasterer for over 20 years and decided I wanted a career change. Studying an Access course is giving me the opportunity to start a rewarding career and give me a second chance to try something new. I am hoping to start my nursing degree later this year and because of studying my Access course I now hold conditional offers at The University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University for a nursing degree.

University Level Courses
For students who are interested in pursuing a university-level course in science, Nottingham College also offers the opportunity to progress onto degree-level study. Students who are currently in year 12 or 13 can find out more about the university-level study options available to them by booking a space on the Higher Education Information Evening, which will take place on the 15th June.
