News: Small actions, big impact – sustainability-themed CPD days
Book and clothing swaps, vegetable soup making, recycling tips, and eco-friendly crafting were just a handful of the sustainability-themed workshops held at our recent staff CPD days.
It was fantastic to see teams joining together from across the college to learn more about the small actions they can take to make a big impact on our environment.
As part of the activities we welcomed an array of special guest speakers, including garden designer Andy Callow, on wildlife-friendly gardening; Julian Marsh from the Nottingham Climate Assembly, speaking about how they are responding to the City’s pledge to become carbon neutral by 2028; tips on saving water by Severn Trent; and ‘Bring back the Bees’, presented by one of our very own lecturers, Liz Morley, on ways you can help biodiversity.
Staff made personal sustainability pledges as part of the day and there was plenty of inspiration to encourage teams to think about ways they can contribute to the college’s journey to net zero.
