For our college’s festive fundraiser this year, our staff and students are once again joining forces to bring joy to people in our local community who may otherwise go without.

Festive trees have been set up around our campuses, each adorned with tags representing wishes from individuals supported by charities, organisations, or companies.

This initiative allows our students and staff to simply choose a tag from the tree, purchase the specified gift, and return it to their campus reception in a carrier bag with the tag attached before 11th December.

Our students worked together to make this happen. At Basford, our Level 3 Joinery and Carpentry students designed and built the wooden collection crate, our Level 1 Painting and Decorating students painted it and wrote the tags, and our Level 1 Land students hung them up on the tree.

Additionally, the tree at Adams was organised by our Level 2 Nail students. At City Hub, the tree was organised by our Level 3 Aviation and Level 1 Creative Media students. And at High Pavement, the tree was organised by a group of A Level students.

Taking part in social action projects like this is a great opportunity for me to work as a team and try something different outside of my course. It feels really good to be able to get involved and know that I’m helping others in the local community who may not have as much.
