News: Triple win for sporty students

Please note: This news story may contain information that is no longer current or up to date.

Three Nottingham College students have won their place representing the East Midlands at a national sporting final, after winning regional heats earlier this month.

Natalie Crawford, Zac Goodwin, and Jessica Widdowson will take part in the Association of Colleges (AoC) National Sport Championships next spring, in cross country running, hockey, and table tennis respectively.

The trio joined students from across the College competing in the AoC Sport regional tournaments, in a range of sports. For A Level student Natalie, Media student Zac, and Jessica from the Foundation Degree in Sport Coaching, it was the springboard towards competing at a national level. All the students involved gained valuable experience of a live sporting event.

All the competing students played really well and should be proud of themselves.

We’re looking forward to the nationals already, and it will be wonderful to see our three competitors at the finals representing the region.

Abbi Hodgett — Sports Technician at Nottingham College

The National Championships will take place at the University of Nottingham 24 – 26 April 2020.

We offer a range of sport courses here at Nottingham College, along with lots of sports and activities for students as part of our enrichment programme.
