A place to thrive

Being part of Nottingham College means playing a vital part in helping thousands of people reach their potential. Together, we’re making a positive difference to our learners, to our communities and to each other. We’re building better futures, for others and for ourselves. Here, you’ll have the freedom to work in a way that suits you, the support to thrive and the opportunity to shape your career.

Who we need

In this role you will provide crucial support on a range of internal and external communications initiatives. It’s a varied role and will give you the opportunity to get out and about across the college, as well as blend your onsite presence with some home-working too.

In the role you will:

- Develop and maintain a comprehensive staff and student case study library

- Edit and update our staff and student intranets

- Produce a range of staff and student newsletters

- Contribute to student engagement activities, alongside our communications manager and other departments

- Keep an eye out for and pursue various PR opportunities as they arise, maintaining good relationships with our local and relevant trade media

- Take photos and short video clips for use across our core channels

- Provide support to the communications manager on a range of proactive and reactive comms requests

What you’ll bring

You will bring with you some experience in a communications role, preferably in a large, fast-paced and diverse organisation. You’ll be a self-starter, happy to get out and about and find the news that interests and inspires you. You’ll be an excellent writer, with experience writing for various audiences across a range of channels. You will have experience of media relations and a track record in working with local media and partners to positively position the college for all that it does. As this is a part-time role this role would suit somebody looking to maintain a level of flexibility and work life balance. You will be happy to come into college as the need arises but you’ll be given the opportunity for some home-working too.
