Who we need

This is an exciting new role for a Quality Improvement Manager for Adult Programmes and HE. The purpose of this role is ensuring robust internal quality assurance processes and high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment (TLA) are at the fore within Nottingham College. You will act as a liaison with key awarding organisations, oversee assessment activities, and promote evidence-based approaches to challenge and improve curriculum standards.

Challenges:

· Maintaining consistency: Ensuring consistent high-quality TLA across various curriculum areas can be challenging.

· Navigating regulatory requirements: Adhering to regulatory standards and inspection frameworks requires meticulous attention to detail and adaptability.

· Addressing malpractice: Investigating and addressing alleged malpractice related to assessment and standards demands thoroughness and sensitivity.

· Managing difficult conversations: Effectively managing conversations regarding feedback and improvement areas can be delicate yet crucial.

· Staying ahead of innovations: Keeping up with advancements in technology and AI to optimise processes and enhance teaching practices poses an ongoing challenge.

Responsibilities:

· Leading targeted quality improvement interventions and producing outcome reports.

· Reviewing and evaluating education quality in alignment with inspection frameworks and regulatory standards.

· Undertaking investigations into alleged malpractice related to assessment and standards.

· Ensuring effective assessment and internal verification policies and practices are in place.

· Leading standardisation and moderation activities to evaluate teaching quality and provide developmental feedback.

What you’ll bring

The ideal candidate for this role would possess a proven track record of driving quality improvements through robust processes, leading targeted interventions, and demonstrating substantial experience in internal quality assurance activities. They should also exhibit excellent communication skills, emotional intelligence, and a commitment to upholding equal opportunities and diversity, while being solutions-focused with strong problem-solving abilities.

The successful candidate will have:

1. Proven track record of driving quality improvements: Demonstrated ability to initiate and implement effective quality improvement initiatives using robust processes while providing supportive guidance and direction.

2. Leadership in targeted intervention and improvement planning: Experience leading intervention plans and improvement activities across diverse curriculum areas, indicating the ability to strategically address areas for improvement.

3. Teaching/training experience in Further Education and Higher Education: Successful history of teaching or training in a FE & HE context, with a track record of achieving good or better outcomes for learners, showcasing pedagogical expertise.

4. Substantial experience in internal quality assurance: Extensive background in leading and executing internal quality assurance activities, ensuring adherence to standards and continuous improvement in educational delivery.

5. Collaboration with stakeholders for quality delivery: Proven ability to work effectively with awarding organisations and key stakeholders to ensure high-quality delivery of teaching, learning, and assessment within a FE & HE environment, highlighting strong partnership skills.
