Course area introduction
Supported Learning is our course area for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We offer courses specifically designed to meet the needs of students between the ages of 16 and 24 who have a learning difficulty and/or disability, and to help them reach their potential.
We offer flexible learning programmes from Pre-entry through to Level 1.
If you join one of our supported learning programmes we will support you to increase your confidence, self-esteem, self-awareness and independence. You could potentially progress onto higher level courses as well. This could include supported internships, employability skills or other courses at Nottingham College.
We will help you develop independent living and employability skills that will increase your future opportunities and help you in your everyday life.
We have a flexible curriculum to meet the needs of students with higher support needs and ensure having fun and great experiences are compulsory!
Enrichment activities include:
- Residentals within the UK and Europe
- Supporting environmental projects
- Outdoor pursuits

Small class sizes and effective, specialist training and learning support, combined with our ability to recognise and understand your needs, helps all students achieve.

- A sensory room

My course gives me real experience within all aspects of catering. From working in the kitchens with industry standard-equipment, to preparing menu items and serving customers, everything I am learning will help me in the future. It has given me lots of confidence and my goal is to own a café one day.
