Level 2 sport student and gymnast Meghan Pead tells us how her college course is helping to support her dreams of becoming an Olympic gymnast.

Earlier this month Meghan flew to South Africa to take part in selection trials with the aim of representing South Africa. Meghan, who has competed in both international and national competitions, moved to the UK from South Africa to help pursue her Gymnastic dreams.

Alongside her course, Meghan coaches at Robin Hood Gymnastics club, allowing her to put the knowledge she has gained on her course, along with her extensive gymnastic experience, into practice.

My favourite thing about my college course is I get to study lots of areas that help with my gymnastics, for example, anatomy and physiology, psychology, and nutrition. My goals are to progress to a level 3 course and continue my coaching career with Robin Hood Gymnastics Club. My long-term goal is to become an Olympic champion.

 — Meghan Pead
