News: National Apprenticeship Week 2023
National Apprenticeship Week returned from the 6 ‑ 12 February 2023 and we are proud to have been involved! The theme this year was‘Skills for Life’ and we showcased the many great ways apprentices are having a positive impact in the workplace.
Record numbers at our Apprenticeship Open Evening!
We welcomed our biggest turnout ever for our Apprenticeship Open Evening on Tuesday the 7th of February 2023!
Open Evenings are vital in the recruitment process as they allow potential apprentices to meet employers and discover opportunities in person, as well as get a glimpse into College life and what to expect.
It’s great to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week with an event like this. We’re fully booked which is amazing and shows the increasing importance and popularity of apprenticeships.

We saw more than 550 visitors walk through our doors at Basford for our annual Apprenticeship Open Evening – almost double the amount of visitors compared to last year.
As part of the event, we were joined by more than 30 employers, as well as our dedicated Apprenticeship Team, who were on hand to offer advice, guidance and opportunities to our guests, including many of our current students who were keen to find out more.
Events like this are really important so that students can actually engage directly with employers to ask lots of questions they have like ‘what apprenticeships actually look like?’ and ‘what are their expectations? And having that extra resource with all of the details that you can’t necessarily get online.

Our Apprenticeship Awards are returning in May 2023 with awards in new categories and a fantastic new venue!
Nominations will be opening soon across a range of categories.
