News: We’re getting ‘fired up’ for National Apprenticeship Week
In support of National Apprenticeship Week, 3rd to 9th February, we’re firing up conversation around apprenticeships.
This year’s theme is ‘Look Beyond’, encouraging people to look beyond outdated stereotypes surrounding apprenticeships and celebrate the diversity of opportunity and value that they bring.
We offer a wide range of apprenticeships with a constant stream of over 100 vacancies, locally and nationally waiting to be filled in areas such as: automotive, construction, engineering, business administration, IT, customer service, team leading/management, hairdressing, health sciences and sport and leisure, amongst others.
Our strong links with employers mean we can offer students apprenticeships at major organisations such as Nottingham City Council, Nottingham County Council, Kia, Hyundai, Tesla, Freeths, J Tomlinson and Games Workshop. Actively working with around 2500 employers to understand the needs of the local and regional economy, we also offer training programmes and apprenticeships that support the upskilling of employees to promote economic growth and prosperity in Nottinghamshire.
‘Today’s apprentices are Making Impact, Not Tea’
Grace Cooper, who completed her catering apprenticeship at The Larder on Goosegate, is a great example of one of our apprentices who is now thriving in their career. She not only secured a full-time job, but she also got promoted to chef de partie. Hear what she had to say in this short video.
Our apprenticeship events
We’re hosting our annual Apprenticeship Fair on Tuesday the 4th February, where we’re expecting over 300 visitors from local schools and from the College, not to mention a number of local businesses and organisations, including NHS, Gemini, Nottingham Jobs and Freeths.
It’s our Apprenticeship Open Evening at our Basford campus on Wednesday 1st April, 4.30 – 7.00pm, for people thinking about an apprenticeship. This is a fantastic opportunity to speak to our dedicated apprenticeship team and some of the biggest local businesses about the types of apprenticeship roles that are available. Places are now available to book.
