Course outline

This course is a great choice if you are ready to start your career in the beauty industry and have a passion for making people feel pampered and good about themselves.

It is ideal for anyone wanting to add facial treatment to their current treatment options.

You will learn:

  • Communication and consultation techniques
  • Contra-indications to facial treatment
  • Health, safety and hygiene
  • Basic anatomy and physiology
  • Products knowledge and skin analysis
  • Client preparation for facial treatment
  • Complete a 60-minute facial treatment
  • Homecare and aftercare

You can expect a dedicated team of lecturers who still work in the industry, so have up to date skills and experience.

This course will be a hands-on learning experience to ensure you get a solid grounding in the main application of a facial treatment, using high quality products.

Entry requirements

You must have:

  • Good communication skills
  • A keen interest in facial therapies
  • Good dexterity (hand/ eye coordination)
  • An informal chat with tutor
Teaching & assessment

Practical skills will be assessed when carrying out a facial treatment on a model and completion of an end of unit test which will be graded pass or refer.

You will also undertake a multiple choice end of unit test.
