Course outline
The Ceramic for Improvers course leads on from our Ceramics for Beginners course and builds on the basic skills already learned.
Students will be guided to work more independently on self-directed ceramic projects, This course is open to anyone with basic experience of ceramics.
You will be able to focus on developing your own ceramic project over a number of weeks, allowing you to focus on really improving your ceramic making and decorating skills, whether in hand-building or on the pottery wheel.
You will be taught by experienced tutors and have access to the schools resource of equipment and tools.

Entry requirements | You must be aged 19+ and have a good standard of English as you will be required to complete a short workbook with the help of your tutor. |
Teaching & assessment | Tutors will give regular verbal and written feedback. You will be required to complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and encouraged to set your own personal targets as part of this course. |
Progression | There may be opportunities to progress onto other courses both in the community and at Nottingham College sites. The course tutor can discuss appropriate opportunities if you wish to further your learning in this subject area. Careers guidance will be made available to you to aid your next steps. |
Additional information | Students will be required to pay £20 directly to the tutor at the first class to cover clay, firing and glaze. |
