Introduction to Machine Knitting — Part-time

Course outline

This course is perfect for any beginner who has never used a knitting machine or would like to refresh their machine knitting skills.

This short course will introduce you to machine knitting.

You will learn the basics of machine knitting, and experiment with yarns, be introduced to range of stitches to explore design, texture and weight. You will also learn the basics of how to use a knitting machine to create a variety of structures, textures and patterns using the colleges specialist knitwear machines. You will then use these skills to produce a scarf.

By the end of the six week course, you will produce your own range of samples to take home

You can expect a friendly and inclusive atmosphere with excellent tutor teaching. You will gain new knowledge and skills in sewing and have opportunities to develop your creativity.
