Sport careers offer excellent prospects not only if you compete professionally but also if you’re keen on coaching, exercise science, sports development, fitness instruction, leisure centre management and outdoor pursuits.
At Nottingham College, we pride ourselves on offering a variety of opportunities for students to keep active, take part in competitive sport and engage in college life. Our reputation speaks for itself but our many achievements have also made us the number 1 FE sport provider in Nottinghamshire.
We have a lot of options for you to choose from. For instance, we have pathways in sports development, fitness, training, coaching and elite performance. You’ll also benefit from a well-rounded educational and sporting experience, that can lead directly into a rewarding career or to university-level study.
In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to join one of our Sport Academies across a variety of sports. Our course timetables are managed to allow you to participate in weekly practical sessions and regular Association of Colleges (AoC) Sport and Conference Youth Alliance leagues/competitions.
On top of all this, our sport department also offers a comprehensive work experience/volunteering scheme through our exclusive partnerships in the world of sport. Highlights include coordinating one of the largest tennis events for children in Europe at the Nottingham Tennis Open on behalf of the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), volunteering at the National Ice Centre and Trent Bridge International Cricket Ground, leading events with the college Darts Academy and coordinating Primary School sports events.
We also organise residential trips in the UK and overseas, plus UK day trips to complement your course.
We offer a variety of courses at Nottingham College, ranging from Level 1 to University Level.
