About Once Upon a Time

Your child’s experience

Each day your child will play, learn and have fun. This may be indoors or outdoors; but always in a safe and caring environment. Our qualified and experienced staff use the Early Years Foundation Stage to plan activities and opportunities for all children, helping them work towards their next stage of development.

We promote working in partnership with parents using the valuable knowledge parents hold about their children, to enable us to plan effectively for every child. We take every opportunity to share with parents how their children learn and develop through the seven areas of learning. The learning journey children start when they join one of our nurseries is a joint effort with parents and extended family and in doing so we aim to reach the best outcomes for all children.

8 weeks-2 years: 1:3
2-3 years: 1:4
3-5 years+: 1:8

Nurseries are Monday to Thursday 8.00am - 6.00pm and Friday 8.00am - 5.30pm
We are open all year with the exception of Bank holidays and between Christmas and New Year.

Our nursery team members are all qualified at Level 2 or 3. In each of our developmental spaces, there will always be at least one member of the team with a Level 3 qualification.

We are also committed to training the childcare professionals of the future, so we do have Apprentices working towards Level 2 and 3 qualifications in our settings, who always work under full supervision of course.

Relationship with parents

Your child will be given a key person who is responsible for their wellbeing and development and is your ‘go to’ person in the nursery.

If your child is under 2 years old, you’ll receive a sheet every day outlining their progress. From 2 years upwards, parents will be given verbal feedback at the end of each day, and parents will also be invited to open evenings throughout the year.

We have an open door policy, which means you’re welcome to come in at a mutually convenient time to talk about any concerns you may have about your child with their key person, who will be happy to listen and find solutions with you.

If you’d like to arrange a visit to any of our nurseries or require any further information, please contact us:
