Course introduction

This course is a great choice if you are ready to start your career in the beauty industry and have a passion for making people feel pampered and good about themselves.

It is ideal for anyone want to add basic waxing services to their current treatment options.

You will learn:

  • Communication and consultation techniques
  • Contra-indications to waxing.
  • Health, safety and hygiene
  • Waxing preparation
  • Completing a full leg, half leg, standard bikini, underarm and facial waxing
  • Homecare and after care

You can expect a dedicated team of lecturers who still work in the industry, so have up to date skills and experience. This course will be a hands-on learning experience to ensure you get a solid grounding in the main application of a waxing treatment, using high quality products.

Practical skills will be assessed when carrying out a waxing treatment on a model and completion of an end of unit test which will be graded pass or refer. (Please note you will need to provide your own model).

College certificate accredited through ABT.

You will need:

  • Good communication skills
  • Keen interest in the beauty industry
  • Good dexterity (hand/ eye coordination)
  • An informal chat with tutor
  • Completion of a full leg, standard bikini, underarm and facial waxing on a client
  • Multiple choice end of unit test

Other short course such as threading, brow lamination and brow definition.

Please note you need to provide your own model to complete the waxing treatments.

Please ensure that you are wearing all black e.g. black trousers or leggings and plain black t-shirt or tunic.

You may be required to purchase a kit to complete this course. Information will be provided on application.
