Course introduction

This course is perfect if you’d like to offer great customer service to people flying to far-flung destinations.

Mandatory Units:

  • Aviation security

Optional Units include:

  • Check in procedures and travel documentation
  • Passenger baggage processing
  • Supporting passengers with special requirements
  • Ground services
  • Loading and unloading of aircraft
  • Aircraft marshalling

You can expect lots of situation-based training to get you thinking on your feet, scenario based assessments, as well as practical/written assignments. Nottingham College will help you to gain valuable experience on work placements that give you a real insight into the industry.

NCFE Level 2 Diploma in The Aviation Environment

You’ll need either:

  • 4 GCSEs at grades 9-4 (A*–C), including English Language and Maths – one of English Language or Maths must be grade 9–4 (A*–C). Functional Skills Level 2 can be used as equivalent to GCSE grade 4 (C) or above.

OR

  • Level 1 Introduction to Hospitality and Tourism qualification.

Choose to follow with further study at Nottingham College on a Level 3 course in Travel and Tourism or Aviation Operations. Career options include: event management roles, travel agent, theme park employee, cruise ship employee or holiday resort representative.

Students aged 16-18 don't have to pay tuition fees.
