Course introduction

This course is perfect if you love the world of travel, have a passion for customer service and enjoy putting a smile on people’s faces.

You’ll learn about the travel and tourism industry and the skills required to succeed in it. You’ll cover areas such as customer service, planning visits, UK travel and tourism, local geography and preparation for employment.

You can expect lots of subject variety, visits to give you first-hand experience of the industry, and to complete a range of practical/written assessments and presentations.

Pearson BTEC Level 1 Introductory Diploma in Travel and Tourism

You must have 4 GCSEs at grades 9-3, one of which must be English Language or maths at grade 4.

You'll be assessed via a range of practical and written assessments and presentations.

Choose to follow with further study at Nottingham College on a Level 2 Travel and Tourism or Level 2 Aviation course. Career opportunities include: aircraft or cruise ship stewarding, travel agent, holiday representative or airport crew.

Students aged 16-18 don't have to pay tuition fees.
