Whether you currently work in sport and want to progress, or you plan to complete a sport-related university-level qualification to kick-start your career, then this course can help you realise your potential.

    Entry requirements

    You should have successfully completed GCSEs in English Language and maths at Grade 9 to 4/A* to C. Applicants must also have a minimum of 64 UCAS points from:

    • At least two A Levels at A2
    • BTEC Diploma or Extended Diploma
    • International Baccalaureate
    • Access to HE Diploma

    Other combinations of qualifications and experience will also be considered, as will Level 3 qualifications not currently listed on the UCAS tariff.

    We would expect students to be working at (or to demonstrate competency at) Level 2 or above in English/literacy and maths/numeracy.

    Experienced mature applicants with relevant professional experience and/or qualifications are welcome to apply.

    Teaching & assessment

    We assess continually throughout the course including through assignments, research projects, reports and practical investigations.

    Two modules include assessment by exam to help prepare you for further degree-level study.

    As part of your course you will also need to complete a programme of work placement which we’ll help you to secure.

    Progression

    You could progress to the third year of the BSc (Hons) Sport Science and Coaching at Nottingham Trent University, our validating university.

    Alternatively you could top-up to a relevant degree at another university.

    This qualification could also open up a wide range of careers within a sports coaching, sports development or administrative environment such as sports development officer, sports coach or sports management.
