We are one of the largest providers of con­struc­tion train­ing in the Mid­lands, and we’ve invest­ed heav­i­ly in our facil­i­ties, so you’ll have access to indus­try-stan­dard work­shops and fan­tas­tic resources. In fact, we have been high­ly rec­om­mend­ed by the con­struc­tion sec­tor body, the Con­struc­tion Indus­try Train­ing Board (CITB), so you can be con­fi­dent you will be in a great learn­ing environment. 

Our teach­ing staff have had years of expe­ri­ence in indus­try, so they know just how to help set you up for a great career. 

We have well-estab­lished links with con­struc­tion employ­ers and there will be plen­ty of oppor­tu­ni­ties for you to work on real projects. Our stu­dents and appren­tices were part of the team build­ing Nottingham’s tram sys­tem and they are involved in many oth­er build­ing projects around the city, includ­ing our very own brand new City Hub! 

You will gain valu­able work expe­ri­ence with indus­try part­ners and may even get the oppor­tu­ni­ty to take part in one of our well-estab­lished inter­na­tion­al work expe­ri­ence projects. You could even take part in com­pe­ti­tions, to show off the skills you’ve learned and add to your CV

We offer courses from Entry Level right up to Degree Level as well as Apprenticeships in some areas, so you can progress to the level that suits you and then into industry.

Careers in Construction

A career in construction is very rewarding, as it means that you will be part of essential work that helps to drive the economy forward - constructing a huge range of buildings and infrastructure including:

  • Houses, schools and hospitals
  • Roads, motorways and train stations
  • Large investment projects, such as big name stadiums and skyscrapers.

There are a vast number of career options in the industry – whether you would like to be a Bricklayer or Engineer, a Builder, a Carpenter or Joiner, a Painter or Decorator, an Electrician, a Planner, a Plasterer, a Plumber, a Building Trades Supervisor or Groundworks Person – there are many choices available to you.

  • Around 3 million people work in construction in the UK, making it one of the nation’s biggest and most diverse industries!
  • In 2017, employment in construction will reach just over 2.6 million – its highest point since the recession.
  • Over the next 5 years, a predicted 179,000 construction jobs will be created.
  • Construction output is expected to grow by 1.7% a year.
  • In the East Midlands, 1,770 jobs will be created over 5 years.

On this Apprenticeship you will be involved in many aspects of plumbing and heating systems.

Refrigeration Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Engineering Technician - Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3)

If you want to earn while you learn, this Advanced Apprenticeship could be for you!

Site Carpentry - Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3)

This is a great apprenticeship if you want to progress your career as a Site Carpenter.

Site Carpentry - Intermediate Apprenticeship (Level 2)

This occupation involves carrying out skilled work, primarily using timber products, either on a construction site, or in a workshop, creating and installing building components.
