Art with Upcycled Materials for Beginners/​Improvers — Part-time

Course outline

This course will appeal to students who are interested in using alternative materials and methods to create art. It is suitable for both beginners and improvers.

We will use a range of recycled media and various techniques, and several finished pieces will be produced. Emphasis will be on students’ developing and exploring their own interests in the projects. Reference will be made to the work of past and contemporary artists.

  • Collage
  • Constructing reliefs
  • Constructing sculpture

Entry requirements

You must be aged 19+ and have a good standard of English as you will be required to complete a short workbook with the help of your tutor.

Teaching & assessment

Tutors will give regular verbal and written feedback. You will be required to complete an Individual learning plan (ILPs) encouraged to set your own personal targets as part of this course.

Progression

There may be opportunities to progress onto other courses both in the community and at Nottingham college sites. The course tutor can discuss appropriate opportunities if you wish to further your learning in this subject area.
